Email Tips

Note that throughout the year you will receive emails from Michelle MacDonald (Associate Chair of the Undergraduate Biochemistry program) as well as Elizabeth Theriault (Undergraduate Assisant). Do not ignore these emails. These emails usually pertain to breakthroughs or publications by professors in the Biochemistry department. You may not necessarily be interested in this information. However, sometimes the emails pertain to available research positions, job openings, volunteer opportunities, procedures for submitting reference letter requests to profs, technical support for LearnLink, and more. So read these emails before you delete them.

If you are tired of logging into MUGSI to check your undergraduate email, then here is a method for redirecting all mail that reaches your MUGSI inbox to your frequently-used email (Hotmail, Gmail, etc).

Follow these simple steps:

  1. Go to http://www.mcmaster.ca
  2. Log on to your MUGSI undergraduate email.
  3. Click on the Rules tab at the top of the webpage.
  4. In the third grey box from the top, put a tick in the checkbox labeled Redirect All Mail to:
  5. In the white space below, type in your main email address.
  6. If you would like to receive emails in both mailboxes, then also put a tick in the checkbox labeled Keep a Copy.
  7. Log out and you may never have to access your MUGSI inbox again.
